If there is one thing I love about spring, it's that your options for bottoms drastically widen. Capris, mini-skirts, linen pants, full skirts, short shorts, silky skirts, and the list goes on and on... I am really excited about all the new shorts I have been seeing in the stores for spring. I love wearing shorts with a flowy shirt and chunky shoes for a night out. And with the humid and hot days very close by, I'll need something to keep me cool.

As for capris, see my last post...*sigh* just a classic spring item.

Audrey-esque

Forever 21 gold earrings, Loft gold lariat necklace, Guess white lace top, Guess black capris, Steve Madden gold wedges

I've just adore a good pair of black capri pants. They are so classic, and women have worn them for decades, just like one of my fashion icons, Audrey Hepburn. I found these while unpacking yesterday and even though they are from high school (eek!) and faded, I think they are perfect for spring (note to self: go buy more pairs!)

Spring Has Sprung

Forever 21 gold hoop earrings, Forever 21 black T-shirt, Express gold ring, Target tan skirt, Forever 21 black belt with gold buckle, Target black peep-toe heels

I love spring for many reasons, but specifically for the sweet skirts that come with the season. They are just too easy to wear! Right now I am really loving flowy mini-skirts and full knee-length skirts which bring me back a couple of decades. Anything with a hint of Betty Draper draws me in. Now if I could only her perfect hair...

GaGa for Vuitton

If I could buy accessories from one store the rest of my life, it would have to be Louis Vuitton. Since I was a little girl I watched my mom carry around Louis Vuitton bags, wallets, etc. and I began my love affair with Vuitton.  Their bags are always timeless and classic. I love the bags from the FW 2010 collection...so gorgeous and ladylike. The details are amazing: sequings, the gold hardware, the lace-like detail... I could go on and on.

Tonight I had the pleasure of going to a little soiree at the Galleria Louis Vuitton store for Lynn Wyatt. Despite being in her late 70s, she sure knew how to rock vintage Vuitton. I hope when I'm that age I look as good and carry myself with as much grace.

Vesty

From left to right by outfit:

For the last couple of weeks, I've really been craving vests a la Blake Lively in season one of Gossip Girl. During warm weather you can almost always find me in a tank and cute little skirt. But even with lots of accessories, I always felt under-dressed. But then *light bulb moment* I had an idea! What if I added a vest? So now I'm on the hunt for the perfect vest to go with all my spring skirts. Add that and a pair of gladiator sandals or chunky wedges and I'm ready to go.

Bright White + Black Buttons = Dreamy Trench Coat

Kensie clear & white sunglasses, random silver hoops, White House Black Market white trench coat, Tiffany & Co. key necklace, Loft grey silk tank, Miley Cyrus & Max Azria black pants, Miss Sixty grey booties

I just adore a great coat or jacket. I've had this obsession since middle school. I think they can easily spice up an otherwise dull outfit. I have coats in ALL colors and styles (really, just open my coat closet - I actually use it!). But my favorite coats are the crisp white ones... white leather jackets, white trench coats, little white hoodies, and I'm sure the list will grow. The white coat is such a perfect transition from winter to spring, and I plan to get plenty of use out of them before the hot and humid southern summers begin.

Neutrals Make Me Blush

Clockwise from top left:
Topshop Knitted Puff Sleeve Cardigan, $90, Topshop Lace Button Front Cami, $50, Arden B Flower Cluster Rope Necklace, $24, Topshop Pearl Button and Lace Cami, $55, Forever 21 Tiered Lace Knit Top, $20, Steve Madden Trickked Heels, $65, Nine West Neves Large Clutch, $89, RSVP Ivana Champagne Satin Pumps, $89, Topshop Chiffon Rara Skirt by Rare, $70, Topshop Vintage Lace Prom Skirt, $80

I am so excited about the beginning of Spring! If I could only wear two colors it would be black and neutrals (yes, I'm counting that as one color). Since neutrals were show in most of the spring collections, it looks like I am in luck. When I'm shopping, I notice that when I get ready to check out, I have an armful of blush, steel, and beige items. I am just drawn to the simplicity of neutrals.  Not only are they easy to wear (you can literally match every other color with a neutral) but details such as lace, bows, and flowers just look dainty and feminine on neutrals instead of like unwanted garnish. Oh, and did I mention that everything is under $100!
